5 on Friday

After a short hiatus, I'm back with my 5 on Friday for all my regular readers. So this is for you, Sarah and Nancy!

Here they are:

1. We had our Christmas tree and lights up since last Sunday. This is a first for us because we usually do that stuff around December 15th. Now, our tree has no decorations yet but it does have the lights on it.

2. Lulu has taken to collecting and studying the toy catalogs that have been arriving in the mail. As she goes through them saying "I want that, I want that.." I've been telling her that she has to tell Santa, not me. So yesterday as we were getting out of the car, with a catalog in her hand, she said "I'm going to take this with me when I see Santa so I can show him what I want." I'm thinking how can I trash this catalog without her knowing because she wants the hideous Princess vanity set that is also a piano and is HUGE!

3. Another funny Lulu story. She as talking about Santa during dinner at my in-laws house on Wednesday and she said when she saw Santa she was going to give him "hugs and kisses, uhh [pause] not kisses just hugs." This kid cracks me up.

4. I love Trader Joe's, I mean LOVE them. I've been enjoying their winter blend coffee lately and the Charles Shaw Beaujolais, which is now available. Try it and tell me what you think, but as a warning, I'm not known for picking wine (at least according to two sisters who shall remain nameless, hint hint-one is a redhead and the other cuts my hair).

5. Lastly, run don't walk to your nearest Dunkin Donuts and get a blueberry coffee. Hurry, go!

  1. First off...that is funny! I'm sure you have more readers than just us two :) But I am glad you're back with the 5 on Friday - it's a cute idea!

Second, Suki has been diggin the magazines and catalogs too! It is completely annoying and I have been trying to teach her the true meaning of Christmas but she ain't buyin it! She wants all the hideous stuff too.

Third, Traders Joe's definitely has some good stuff. I need to try their coffee and I didn't know Charles Shaw made a Beaujalais.

Fourth, yes that wine was really really bad! You must have tasted it after you already drank a bottle of something else :)

Fifth, you're right DD blueberry coffee is DELICIOUS! I want some right now!

  3. I'm sure you have some blog stalkers you don't know about ;)
SO funny, Sam is totally into the catalogs too! He likes to read them while, umm, on the potty ;)
I too am hooked on trader joe's. Except I hate that you have to look at the dates on everything (especially produce) because they leave some really old/yucky stuff out sometimes. You must try the chocolate covered peppermint joe joe's (cookies) if you haven't already.
I wish I had a dunkin donuts closer to me! When we go to Connecticut that's all we drink. They are like starbucks there!

  4. I'm a late reader of these 5 on Fridays and I'm so far enjoying them but about Trader Joe's and their wines. I recommend you try their Trentatre Rosso, it's a red and it's housed in a black bottle with a copper top. It's really good and kind of peppery. It's a product of Italy so it stands with those guys.

Also, the La Finca Malbec is really good and similar to the Trent. try them both. The first one sells for 5.99 and the La Finca goes for 3.99.
