day 6: baby carriers

I feel much gratitude to my baby carriers these days because I have a baby that simply has to be in arms or touching me in some way ALL DAY LONG. While I've always believed in attachment parenting, I wouldn't have any other choice with her unless I wanted to listen to her cry. I guess I should have known that my second child would be polar opposite from my first. Luisa was such an easy baby, would be content playing on the floor alone, would go to anyone, etc. Delilah is a perfect baby as long as she is in my arms. She doesn't even need a toy, she will just sit contently in my lap. She loves to play on the floor, as long as I am sitting next to her in arm's reach. She has always been this way, but now its times a 1000, and probably due to separation anxiety which I suppose happens around this age. Again, Luisa never had separation anxiety. So thankfully, I have an Ergo, Gypsy Mama wrap and Taylor Made sling (local company). Otherwise, I would get nothing done or have to listen to her crying (which I hate to do). Luckily she is old enough that I can wear her on my back now or I wouldn't have been able to make dinner last night. She even took a little cat nap hanging out on my back. I am also thankful that there are companies/people out there that made these carriers as an alternative to the Bjorn style ones, which I tried once and thought it was the most uncomfortable carrier ever made. So if you have one, ditch it, there are more comfortable ones out there, see for yourself at TBW.

  1. The carrier sounds amazing! I wish I had had one when Analisa was a baby. I always called her my little koala bear - had to be attached to me at all times! :) Next time get a picture of her on your back while you are making dinner! I would love to see that! How cute!

  2. I LOVE LOVE my gypsymama and I liked my moby too! Carlos still uses the Bjorn but it's just too uncomfortable for me as Max gets bigger. I am definitely grateful for these too! They allow me to get my grocery shopping done :)
